David Adams - Part Time Pastoral Associate
“We are His workmanship created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:10
“The Light shines in the darkness and the darkness has not overcome it” John 1:5
God’s timing is always perfect and complete. I am blessed to be called this new season of ministry at St. Paul’s and God's work here, bearing witness to Jesus's healing power and love over sin and darkness. I grew up here in Greenville, later graduated from Presbyterian College, and was formerly a youth pastor serving churches in South Carolina and Florida. In 2004 while serving in Florida I discerned a call to ordain ministry and met my future wife, Debbie. The next year we married and moved to Wisconsin where I trained at Nashotah House Seminary and we had our first child, Ann Carver. I was ordained to the priesthood in 2009. Before moving back to Greenville in 2016, I discerned a call into the pastoral ministries and trained/served 7 years as a hospital chaplain with Roper St. Francis in Charleston SC and as priest associate first at Old St. Andrew’s Church then at St. Luke & St. Paul’s Anglican Cathedral. While living in Mt Pleasant, we had our second child David.
Now after serving 5 years full-time here at St. Paul’s teaching and preaching, I now assist part-time in the pastoral ministries, home visitations and healing ministries. Recently, I have answered the call to begin serving part-time at Harvest Anglican church in Simpsonville, teaching and preaching once a month.
Debbie and I love being back in Greenville and enjoying this season of shaping our children as they grow into young adults. In my leisure time, I am outdoors hunting with my son, in the bleachers with Debbie, watching our daughter perform colorguard or hiking in the mountains with family/friends.
